General
I have 2 young children who I enjoy spending time with. We enjoy outings to local places and meetings with friends and family.
We also enjoy visiting the cinema, theatre and reading. I love to travel and listen to music. I have organised and planned many holidays and
sightseeing trips. I have a long list of places I hope to visit with my family. To keep fit and healthy I enjoy walking, swimming,
cycling, running and using my cross trainer. In the future I plan to further my knowledge and skills in photography and learn to play the
guitar.
Tech Events and Meetups
You may find me at local meetups, such as: Stoke On Tech or
The IT Crewe. Both are great, free and local educational events, well worth a look.
In the past, I attended CeBIT 2001 in Hannover. CeBIT is Europe’s largest computer show and is world famous. Through my own willingness to learn and my
enthusiasm for computing I managed to attend an MSDN Seminar titled “The State of Component Software Revisited”. At the time I was working for
Software AG. The company did not send me; I attended because I was interested and the seminar was appropriate to Software AG’s line of
business. In 2007, I arranged to attend the Microsoft Event, “Eight Reasons to Migrate to SQL Server 2008” at The Digital World Centre in Manchester.
This was an informative introduction to the new version which enabled discussions about plans to migrate and the usefulness of the new features.
